Dimitri Cocconi, President

dimitricocconi Past President and previous Partner of Viking Tours and Yacht Cruises of Greece, Dimitri Cocconi has more than 35 years experience in educational travel to Greece and Turkey. He is now the president of Educational Tours & Cruises. He knows Greece and the Greek Islands like the back of his hand! Cocconi's excellent contacts at hotels, museums, and institutions, the result of his long involvement in the travel business, enable him to arrange unique group programs. Fluent in English, Greek, Swedish and German , with a knowledge of French and Spanish, his hobbies include jogging, philosophy, yoga, history, politics - and of course traveling. He continues to travel extensively in Greece, Turkey and throughout Europe. In the summer and in January he is in Greece to oversee , personally greet and often accompany study groups. He and his wife, Myrto (see below), have two daughters.

Myrto Cocconi, Guide-Lecturer

myrtococconiMyrto Cocconi is our gifted Guide-lecturer (and Mrs. Dimitri Cocconi). She knows virtually every island, museum and historic site of any importance in Greece, her expertise will ensure your study tour is a rewarding and intellectually stimulating experience, whether your interest is in Western Civilization, Greek and Byzantine Art of History, Archaeology, Local Customs, Botany- or a combination of these subjects. She is also knowledgeable about all aspects of modern Greek society. Fluent in English, Greek, German and Spanish she is also conversational in French and Swedish. Her hobbies include aerobics, archaeology, art history, yoga and folk dancing.

Thalia Cocconi, Operations Manager

thaliacocconiThalia Cocconi, our operations Manager, and the youngest of the Cocconis, has been exposed to tourism from her childhood! She has travelled extensively in Greece, Turkey and Italy among other countries of Europe. She speaks fluent Greek, English, has a good knowledge of Italian, German and French. A graduate of Fairfield University, Connecticut with a BA in Communications, she spent a full semester in Strassbourg, worked in the hospitality industry in Paris, attended various courses in most European countries. A graduate of the Travel School of America / Boston, she worked for several years in the management team of American Express Corporate Travel Services. She holds a Masters degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts and has taught an undergraduate course in Hospitality in Southeastern University of Europe in Athens. A volunteer with the blind at the Parolympic Games in Athens 2004, Thalia loves to travel and explore new places in her free time, and also dances and teaches “Street Funk” to youngsters. She is a available for any information or advice you may need on educational travel to Greece, Turkey or Italy.

Marina Cocconi, Assistant Operations Manager

marinacocconiMarina Cocconi is our new member of our dedicated team of travel professionals, born in Athens, Greece. She obtained her BA in Sociology and Dance combined with a Minor in French from the Randolph Macon Women's College in Virginia and continued her education with a MA in Elementary Education from the Boston University. She completed studies in Spanish Language and Culture at the University of Salamanca in Spain and has extensive language abilities besides her native Greek such as Spanish, French, German and Swedish.
Extensive travel in all of Europe, Asia, Australia and in North America as well as summer courses and jobs as teacher in Latin America has given her a global outlook necessary in the educational travel field.
Her working experience of 12 years includes positions in a variety of US public schools in Massachusetts as well as in American International Schools abroad. She is now a valuable member of our team especially after concluding. This led her to a diploma for guiding in Cyprus. Marina's interests include skiing, yoga, dancing, pilates , education and traveling.
